Today’s modernised forestry industry is ecologically sustainable. And the successes we have reaped in the environmental field can be seen as the outcome of a combination of the Munksjö companies’ own efforts and the concession requirements of the authorities.
The Board of Directors and the Group management are ultimately responsiblefor all environmental issues at Munksjö. The Business units Managers are responsible for the ongoing environmental activities. Extensive investments have been made in Munksjö AB’s facilities over the past years. Progress as regards environmental issues has been a key aspect of all these investments.
Munksjö has several products with environmental selling points, such as the paper used to insulate electric cables and the decor paper used instead of wood from protected tropical trees.
Munksjö Aspa Bruk is part of an industry that has made tremendous investments in reducing its environmental impact. It has now succeeded in turning the tide of environmental criticism, and much of this achievement is due to the pioneering efforts at Aspa Bruk.
A large number of Munksjös units are environmentally certified or in the process of becoming certified in accordance with ISO14001, the EU environmental certification process EMAS.
