Environmental policy

Munksjö conducts industrial operations based on renewable raw materials while generating profitability that provides scope for ongoing development in sustainable harmony with nature. This demands the full commitment of the Board of Directors and Group subsidiaries, as well as close monitoring of developments in research and technology.

Group subsidiaries must follow applicable environmental legislation, the Munksjö environmental policy and the various commitments Munksjö has made, as well as maintain an open attitude with regard to government authorities and in environmental issues generally.

The environmental performance of the companies shall be evaluated, monitored and continuously improved through increased conservation of energy and raw material resources, increased transport efficiency and reduced emissions, waste and noise.

Employees shall receive internal training and information to educate them on environmental issues and instill a sense of responsibility for these issues.

Employees shall participate in preventive efforts by reporting operational shortcomings that could lead to accidents and incidents, so that such shortcomings may be rectified before emissions and environmental disturbances occur. The preventive efforts include evaluating the environmental consequences of investments and of the establishment of new operations.

Customers, suppliers and contractors shall be involved in our environmental efforts to enable joint development of solutions to improve products, raw materials and processes within the bounds of the technically and financially feasible.
