Electrotechnical Paper

Ever since “Kraft”-paper was invented at Munksjö in the middle of 1880´s and then refined to the level of “Cable papers” in 1909, Electrotechnical paper is manufactured for use in high voltage cables and transformers. At Jönköping there is a special paper machine for this production, which is based on unbleached kraft pulp from the Munksjö pulp mills, Billingsfors and Aspa Bruk
With a market share of 40%, Munksjö is the market-leader and has customers throughout the world. The demand for transformer paper remained strong throughout 2007. The market trend for cable paper was also favourable and future forecasts for electrtechnical paper are excellent.
