Munksjö Aspa Bruk is the single unit within business area Pulp. As an independent market pulp player the mill is considered as relatively small but one of the most cost efficient in the industry.
At present the mill has a capacity of 185 000 ton per year. The turnover in 2006 was 750,2 M SEK and generated 17% of the total turnover within Munksjö Group.

The operation in Aspa Bruk contains manufacturing of bleached and unbleached kraft pulp - NBSK, UKP. The pulp is being produced within three different qualities – ECF, TCF and UKP. After substantial investments in 1997-2007 Aspa Bruk has been able to raise quality and flexibility and cut emissions without increasing the number of employees. The goal is to reach a capacity of 200 000 tons of pulp per year.

The mill is located at Lake Vättern’s nordwest shore, southwest of Askersund. 190 persons are employed at Aspa Bruk. Profit before depreciation in 2006 was SEK 177 M (133), which is a high favourable result. Due to the successful investment projects during the past few years, productivity has increased and the mill has simultaneously had extremely strong market position.
