Munksjö Aspa Bruk develops and produces bleached (ECF and TCF) and unbleached (UKP) long-fibre kraft pulp, primarily for customers in Europe. ECF and TCF pulp are marketed to small and medium fine and specialty paper mills, primarily in Western Europe. These mills manufacture paper to high quality requirements. A new use for ECF pulp is as a component of compression-moulded products, such as electrical plugs and toilet seats. For Aspa’s unbleached kraft pulp (UKP), the major applications are electrotechnical paper and products, as well as various types of filters. Aspa is one of a small number of manufacturers in this niche with the most prominent users as significant customers. Demand and prices are more stable for unbleached than for bleached pulp. Aspa Bruk is an independent pulp producer, and the majority of its production is sold in the open market. Only a small amount is sold within the group.
