Munksjö participates in IMPS-International Munich Paper Symposium
The event, held on March 19-21, is in its 32nd edition and Munksjö was present to share one of the environmental initiatives at our Unterkochen plant in Germany: the "PM1 vacuum system conversion".

By replacing five water ring pumps with a more efficient vacuum blower on PM1 in Unterkochen, the mill reduced energy consumption by 30 – 60% (depending on the paper grade) and substantially minimized resource usage. Freshwater demand was also reduced by 50.000m³/a, and waste heat transfer was reduced by 300kW.
The project started with a vacuum audit by Runtech Systems, which confirmed significant energy-saving potential. Close collaboration and a successful conversion phase ultimately ensured a seamless transition to the new system. The result is a plug-and-play installation of the turbo blower that delivers unparalleled efficiency and performance.
At Munksjö, we contribute to making sustainable living spaces accessible to everyone, one initiative at a time.
