Munksjö marks World Day for Safety and Health at Work with family drawings and employee voices
On April 28, the world marks the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, a moment to promote safe and healthy work, strengthen prevention and reinforce the importance of safety culture in every workplace.
At Munksjö, safety is a core priority across our operational plants and daily routines. Building a strong Munksjö safety culture means combining standards, training, and the right equipment with something equally important: everyday choices, pausing for a moment, thinking ahead and looking out for colleagues.
A safety message through families’ eyes
This year, employees across Munksjö invited children from their families to answer a simple prompt through a drawing: how they perceive their parent or relative working with safety. The result is a collection of honest, creative and often touching illustrations that highlight what safety represents beyond procedures and rules: care, attention and the desire for everyone to return home safe.
In a production environment, safety is built through standards, training, and the right equipment. But it is also built through habits and mindset: stopping before acting, choosing the safe method and supporting each other in daily work. Seeing safety through a child’s eyes brings a powerful perspective: safe work is not only about what happens at the workplace, but also about the people and lives connected to it.
Why safety matters at Munksjö
To bring this World Day message to life, employees shared why safety is important to them and what motivated them to invite their child or relative to participate:
“Safety is something that accompanies us in our everyday lives, not only at work, but also in our private lives. As a family, this makes the topic especially important to us, since it influences how we act and take care of one another every day. I was also motivated to invite my child to participate because I was curious to see how they perceive workplace safety and what ideas they associate with it.”, says Carmela Franca, Customer Service Director at Munksjö.
“For me, safety means taking care of the people we love, both at work and outside of it, and I wanted to invite my daughter to take part because I believe that instilling these values from a young age is a meaningful and effective way to raise awareness.”, shares Henar Arranz, QHSE Assistant at Tolosa plant.
Thank you to our employees and families
Munksjö thanks all employees and families who participated and helped create this shared message. Each drawing is a reminder that safety is personal and that a strong culture is built together, with safety in every step.
