Munksjö joins Ahlström Collective Impact
Munksjö has joined Ahlström Collective Impact (ACI), a collaborative initiative bringing together companies and foundations to support children’s rights and access to education worldwide, in partnership with UNICEF Finland.
Established in 2020, the initiative combines resources and expertise to drive long-term social impact. Beyond supporting UNICEF education programming, ACI also supports its member organizations to apply a child lens on business, contributing to long-term value creation.
Munksjö’s participation reflects its long-standing connection to the Ahlström network, making this collaboration both natural and aligned. This step signals a broader perspective on the role of business, extending its contribution beyond products and operations into the systems and communities it serves.
“At Munksjö, we contribute to making sustainable living spaces accessible to everyone. This purpose goes beyond the specialty paper products we develop. It also includes supporting the communities that shape how these spaces are lived in and experienced. In today’s environment, where uncertainty is increasing, this responsibility becomes even more important. By joining Ahlström Collective Impact, we extend our commitment through collective action and our contribution to improving education and building more resilient societies for future generations,” explains Manfred Bracher, Munksjö CEO.
From responsibility to contribution
For Munksjö, joining ACI reflects an evolution in how responsibility is understood. While environmental performance remains a key priority, the company also recognizes the importance of contributing to the social conditions that support sustainable development.
Through ACI, Munksjö contributes to initiatives aligned with global priorities such as education and equality, helping strengthen the foundations for more inclusive and resilient societies.
“In today’s volatile world, value-based leadership matters more than ever. We know that investing in children’s education is one of the most powerful ways to drive long-term, systemic change. Because building a more sustainable, equal future is not charity – it is a responsibility,” comments Nelli Paasikivi-Ahlström, Chair of Ahlström Collective Impact.
A shared commitment
This partnership reflects a simple principle: in a world shaped by interconnected challenges, meaningful progress is built through collaboration.
By working together, participating organizations can extend their impact beyond individual efforts, contributing not only to industries but also to the communities and future generations connected to them.
